Never been sailing before? Check-out our quick guide on what to pack!
Hey guys,
since I’ve been sailing for YEARS I thought it would be a good idea to give you some tips on what to pack for your trip. Trust me when I say there’s no need to go over-the-top (ladies, forget the high heels, we’re sailing!) – keep it light and simple!
Since space on the yacht is limited, we suggest you pack lightly and, if possible, pick a soft bag over a hard suitcase. You have to keep your luggage in your cabin so – less luggage means more space for your comfort.
When you’re sailing, you spend most of your time outside, catching the warm sun rays, so be sure to bring proper sunscreen. 30 SPF should do the trick. Trust me – (almost) everyone loves sun-kissed skin, but NO ONE loves sunburns.
Try to pack as little clothes as possible and make your light outfits exquisite – throughout the day you only need your swimsuit to catch as much tan as you can, and in the evening you can go crazy – wear outfits you could never wear in your hometown – you’re at the seaside, and besides, it’s the festival season, baby!
So, to keep it short – the essentials are:
- sunscreen
- swimsuits (A LOT of them)
- sunglasses
- hat/cap
- beach towel (towels for showering are provided on the boat)
- some (2-3) of your favorite summer outfits for dinners and nights-out
- sports outfit (top, shorts, and sneakers) – mandatory equipment for Fit Week
- your favorite shoes and flip-flops
- sneakers for all those long walks on the beach (rocks can be sharp)
- chargers and power-bank – you will want to keep your phone full for photos
- some outerwear if the wind gets strong or the nights get chilly
- documents and travel insurance – we’ll keep an eye on you but you can never be too careful
SailYourWay will take care of all the rest. All you have to do now is relax and go with the flow – SailYourWay will make sure you get the most of it (and we mean it!).
